We have a new career opportunity that will appeal to a confident chartered accountant with well-rounded technical background in all aspects of client accounting, tax and business advisory.

The role represents a mix of high-end statutory and management reporting, tax compliance, reviewing and client advisory.

Your key duties and responsibilities will include:

• preparation of year-end financial statements and tax returns
• periodic management reporting
• preparation of budgets and various profit and cash flow forecasts
• preparation of various financial analyses
• evaluation of various business scenarios
• reviewing, supervision and mentoring of junior/intermediate accountants
• participating actively in and assisting clients with their strategic planning
• various other ad hoc tasks and responsibilities

Your well-rounded practical experience and solid, up-to-date understanding of the New Zealand accounting and tax reporting system and the wider commercial environment will be crucial.

While strong technical grounding in all aspects of compliance accounting and tax is essential we are looking for more than a compliance accountant.

We are looking for a commercially savvy individual with analytical mind and expert knowledge of Excel.

In this role, your clients will see you as a business advisor and an integral part of their strategic decision-making process.

Therefore, we are looking for a passionate individual who shares our client’s philosophy to add value to clients’ business and help them grow and be more successful.

To be successful in this multi-faceted role you will need to have the technical grounding and commercial credibility to act as a business coach to clients from various functional backgrounds and industries. 

Your full CA or CPA qualifications will be complemented by a minimum of 4-5 years current NZ BAS experience.

The role has strong client-servicing focus and requires impeccable written and verbal communication skills.
