Our client is a boutique practice with a long-standing clientele. The firm is going through change, which has created the opportunity for an articulate senior accountant to join their close-knit team.

Some of the key duties and responsibilities include:

·         preparation of year-end financial accounts

·         preparation of various periodic tax returns

·         monthly reconciliations

·         assisting clients with settling up and running Xero

·         dealing with various client enquiries

·         interacting with IRD on behalf of your clients

·         various other ad hoc tasks and projects

This is a client-facing role and the successful candidate will work directly with a diverse group small to medium size businesses across industries such as:

• manufacturing
• distribution
• import and export
• commercial property/investment
• wider services industry and others

You will be working with various entities such as individuals, sole traders, trusts, partnerships and companies with annual turnover of up to $10 million and over.

Reporting to the director, you will be responsible for managing client relationships and workflow and assisting other team members with technical support.

The role requires the services of a technically competent accountant, able to work autonomously, without the need for close supervision.

Ideally, we are looking for a CA qualified professional with a minimum of 4-5 years current NZ CA experience. 

We feel that previous experience in a smaller firm (a sole-practitioner, or a 2-3 partner firm) would be most relevant for this role and our client's team environment. 

This opportunity requires good working knowledge of Xero / Xero Practice Manager and MYOB AO.
