Senior Communications Advisor

Transdev is contracted to Auckland Transport to operate Auckland passenger rail services. The Auckland train network carries more than 20 million passengers per annum, is serviced by more than 570 Transdev Journey Makers, and operates more than 3,300 services each week.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a senior communications rock star who is passionate about creating communications that engage stakeholders. The successful candidate will be able to write for an array of internal and external audiences on a variety of channels and mediums. You will also support the development and implementation of communication strategies to drive better business performance.
Key duties:
- Protect and build the brand by developing and fulfilling the digital media strategy
- Lead and add value to our branded social media channels such as LinkedIn and Facebook
- Create and drive engaging online content for Transdev Auckland, Transdev Australasia and Transdev Global
- Develop and publish the weekly company newsletter and all regular communications
- Plan and take responsibility for company events and fundraisers
- Support other business stakeholders to communicate company news and notices
- Develop and publish the company internal magazine with external agencies
The Senior Communications Advisor will work with the Communications and Stakeholder Relations Manager and Communications Advisor to achieve improvements in business performance and customer satisfaction by creating and driving effective internal and external communications.
ABOUT YOU
- Qualification in marketing, communications, journalism or Public Affairs or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years internal and external communications experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for a diverse range of audiences and channels
- Demonstrated experience in digital media, social media management is preferred
- An eye for design and working knowledge of InDesign
- Excellent time management skills and ability to deliver tasks to deadline
- History of effective liaison with internal and external stakeholders, public sector experience is desirable
- Experience in a customer service environment is also desirable
- Good computing skills are essential, including a sound knowledge of the Microsoft Office and Adobe creative software
- A motivated self-starter and team contributor, willing to learn and with a ‘can do’ attitude.
