The Otago University Students’ Association (OUSA) has been around for 128 years and still going strong! We are a passionate group of people providing services to the students of the University of Otago, ensuring they have the best experience possible while studying here.

Our services include famous events such as Orientation and the Hyde Street Party; Recreation services and club support; our Student Support Centre provides advocacy services; Critic magazine and our radio station, Radio One 91FM.

With approximately 60 staff and annual revenue of in excess of $5M we are a significant not-for-profit organisation in Dunedin.

The Role:

Answering to the CEO, the Marketing and Communications manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of the Marketing Communications Department; ensuring our services and events are effectively marketed to our audiences. They are also responsible for managing and building the OUSA and associated brands.

The communications side of the role involves providing media advisory and at times press secretary services to key people within the organisation.

Specifically we are looking for a marketing guru with exceptional digital skills; someone who excels at marketing analytics, loves to keep up with the latest trends and understands how to use them for the best outcomes. Understanding the way young adults use communication technology is also important.

A natural leader with a great sense of humour, you will seamlessly fit into not only the marketing and coms team, but our management team and the wider OUSA family.

This place is crazy busy; so excellent time-management and project management skills are a must.

Ideally you will have a Marketing or related degree, but we will also consider your recent working experience, which should include staff and budget management.
