The Manager, Communications and External Relations plays a key role in contributing the PHARMACs goals and strategic direction through the delivery of fit for purpose internal and external communication. The Manager is accountable for leading and managing the Communications team, currently consisting of eight members.

Who are you?

You are an experienced people manager and communications professional with a proven track record driving change co-operatively within a fast-paced and ambiguous environment.

You have a relevant tertiary qualification or extensive and comparable relevant experience. You are a creative and strategic thinker who is able to drive internal and external engagement. You will have broad experience and/or knowledge in several areas:

  • Extensive experience in stakeholder relations and corporate communications
  • Strong leadership background that can be leveraged to build, guide and lead the team of eight - including mentoring, developing and growing the skills and capabilities of the team
  • Previous experience working collegially in multi-disciplinary teams
  • Highly developed relationship management skills
  • Political awareness, experience and comfort working within the political context including
  • knowledge/experience working within machinery of government processes.
