A Little Bit About The Company

Kings Plant Barn is Auckland’s leading plant and garden store destination.  With 8 branches spread across Auckland and new owners in place, this role represents an opportunity for a savvy e-commerce manager to grow the significant existing online revenue of the business.

Gardening creates an experience for passionate people that is enjoyable, social, and enhances our environment - all the things that Kings Plant Barn was established to support. As our lives get busier and more people are focused on health and sustainable living, it is nice to escape into the garden, work with plants, people, and the community. This is a unique role with meaning.

Some More Information About The Role
  • You will be responsible for growing and developing the online e-commerce store and managing all aspects of the online business.
  • This includes the technical platform management, traffic generation, audience flows and sales conversions for the online store.
  • Your primary responsibility will be to drive traffic to the online store and to convert that traffic effectively.
  • Reporting directly to the GM, this is a unique opportunity to review and set the online e-commerce strategy and then execute on it.
  • Within the existing team, there is a wealth of content contributors and great content history - you won’t have to recreate the wheel and you will be well supported for content.
  • Work closely with Marketing and design on digital marketing and content strategies.
  • Optimise the website for SEO and growth opportunities.
  • You’ll have a good budget to ensure you are able to meet your goals.
  • Evidence based results are important in this role - data and analytics will be your friend and guiding measures of success.
  • The current e-commerce store is already enjoying great success, but with new investment in the business, this is your opportunity to develop it and make it epic.
  • The role will be based at Kings HQ on the North Shore.
So, Who Are You And What Is Your Profile?

You will have at least 3 years of e-commerce store and online marketing experience. You might have run your own store, or worked in an e-commerce team and ready to take on more responsibility for online sales success. You will have solid analytical skills and knowledge of e-commerce technologies.

This is a great opportunity to really make a difference to the business - the opportunities currently are immense, and your role will be to translate these into revenue growth.  Your prior experience is important, as is the ability to show how you have worked through growing an e-commerce store before.

You’ll have an entrepreneurial spirit, you are motivated by achieving goals and are keen to prove your ability.

You’ll be a part of a small but highly talented team and will enjoy being a part of a business with a great focus on health, community, expertise and passion for their offering.
