About The Organisation

If you're eager to use your digital storytelling skills to make a real difference to education, skills and lifelong learning for Aucklanders, our client would love to meet you. 

Our client is an independent charitable trust and Auckland Council CCO. They are a recognised leader in cross-sector collaboration to trial solutions for better education and skills across Auckland. Their projects range from early oral language to participatory science in schools, youth employability skills and advocacy for te reo Māori and languages. 

About The Opportunity

They are now looking for a Digital Content Provider to work in Auckland's CBD. This is a full-time position (30-40 hours a week) until at least April 2020 with the potential to earn $55,000 - $65,000 per annum depending on experience, pro rata depending on experience.

The primary purpose is to create and curate engaging multimedia content that showcases our client's work, people and their impact. 

Reporting directly to the Communications Manager some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Take the lead in producing a continuous flow of videos, photos and copy for website, social media, newsletters, reports & project materials
  • Write, film, edit and deliver high-quality short form videos and photography
  • Source relevant new material, edit content submitted by others
  • Collaborate with project teams on communication materials
  • Help to manage social media channels, websites, newsletters and internal communications
  • Build online presence with clear and consistent content for diverse audiences
About You 
  • Demonstrable record as a strong and creative storyteller who can hit the ground running
  • Recognised tertiary qualification in digital journalism, communications or similar
  • 18 + months professional experience with a portfolio that includes video, photography, web and social media
  • Happy in producing engaging video and photographic content from concept through script, shooting, lighting, sound and editing 
  • Proficient user of Photoshop, Premier Pro or similar editing software, operating cameras, remote mics and other equipment
  • Excellent (English) written, verbal and visual communication skills
  • A good understanding of CMS, social media and web analytics 
  • Experience working along diverse communities, particularly Māori and Pasifika
