We provide a full range of accounting compliance and advisory services to customers throughout the region the Upper North Island. Our customers are successful SME and high-end businesses operating across a range of industries.
Having recently switched to a regional model and more personalised service for our customers, we are currently in the market for a Senior Accountant for the Upper North Island region. You should be CA or CPA qualified or QBE (qualified by experience) and have recent experience working in a CA firm.
About the Role
We are looking for Senior Accountants who get excited by working with business owners, helping them understand their numbers and is passionate about the success of their business. Your typical day will extend beyond compliance into the realm of providing tangible value-add business advice to business owners. We are interested in staff who are customer centric and enjoy dealing with local customers day to day. Based in either our Auckland or Tauranga offices.
Key Duties include;
- Preparation of year-end financial statements & tax returns
- Reviewing work for junior team members
- Monthly and quarterly management reporting for key customers
- Tax Planning, cashflows, budgeting and other advisory work
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with a portfolio of customers
Skills, Behaviours, Experience
- A minimum of 4 years general accounting experience
- Recent public practice experience in a BAS environment at Accountant or Senior Accountant level
- Recent experience with NZ tax as relevant to the SME environment
- Strong commercial acumen
- Able to create and maintain strong working relationships with customers and colleagues
- Able to prioritise and manage workload effectively and to specified deadlines
- Solutions focused
- Experience using Xero and other cloud based software including Spotlight or Futurli, is an advantage
