We are looking for someone to join our high performing Event Sales team to deliver exceptional memorable weddings and social events.

Featuring 13 event spaces including The Great Room - the largest pillar less ballroom in New Zealand. This role would suit someone who has extensive experience in selling and organising wedding and social events, preferably in a 5 star environment, with a strong ability to work with various departments

About the Role

The objective of the position is to drive the wedding and social market segment and continue to develop Cordis, Auckland’s signature brand Heartfelt Weddings.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Working with the Director of Event Management, a key aspect of the role is to implement strategies to ensure financial targets are met
  • Selling and managing from conception to completion the majority of weddings and social events
  • Working with various departments and suppliers to ensure clients’ expectations are exceeded
  • Keeping up with industry trends and continue offering creative and professional services
  • Continue developing the Heartfelt Weddings brand by organising Cordis Auckland Heartfelt Weddings Showcase, attending relevant wedding tradeshows, maintaining relationship with suppliers, working closely with the Marketing and PR team to increase brand exposure

The role requires flexible work hours, in particular being available week days after 5pm and weekends to meet with clients. This is a sales and planning role, not an operational role. 

Your skills and experience will include:

  • Passionate about weddings and with significant previous experience environment, preferably in a 5 star
  •  Proven ability to multi-task and problem solve
  • A high level of organisation and time management skills
  • Hospitality or Events qualifications will be well regarded
  • A creative mind, with strong communication skills and well versed in delivering a exquisite customer service
  •  Our wedding and social market is very multicultural so we are looking for someone that is open minded and with a good understanding of different cultures and traditions
  • Pro-active approach to sales, great negotiation skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and pick up on the detail while working under pressure
