The Role
Reporting directly into the Financial Controller & with the support of one direct report (Assistant Accountant), you will be given a large degree of ownership & autonomy with your main focus being driving all accounting & reporting functions.
Some of the key duties of the role, but not limited to, are as follows;
- Ownership of the month-end process
- Ownership of compiling annual financial statements & leading the external audit process
- Assist the Financial Controller with preparation of budgets
- Continuous improvements of processes, systems & procedures
- Leadership & development of the Assistant Accountant
The Ideal Employee
For you to be successful in this role, you will have the following technical experience & posses the following skills & personality traits;
- 2+ years experience in a similar financial accounting role (preferred)
- Part or fully CA, CPA or equivalent qualified
- Experience with NZ Taxes
- Proactive mind-set to drive efficiency's and an eye for process improvement
- Ability to manage time effectively and deadline focused
- Ability to build good working relationships with business stakeholders
