We need another incredible team member for a unique role leading our event design, production, execution and management. 

You'll have an enviable blend of grace and grit, and the world loves and respects the way you get things done. You will love excitement and handle pressure, and use your energy and expertise to create seamless solutions. You've an eye for detail and always want it just a bit shinier/tidier/faster/easier.

This is a pivotal role in the work we do with entrepreneurs and innovators in Wellington and around Aotearoa.

We support and accelerate the commercialisation of high growth ventures. The Venue and Event Manager is about the people in our community of startups, supporters and clients. You would  manage and deliver our event and experience activities, leading the team in hosting the cohesion between our programmes, our clients and our community. Think consummate host, skilled diplomat, beneficent negotiator and iron-fisted sergeant major - you would wear these hats with pride.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing Creative HQ’s portfolio of events and community/client engagement initiatives 
  • Curating a high level of customer experience for our startups, guests, visitors, stakeholders and sponsors
  • Resourcing our event capability to help deliver Creative HQ’s strategic goals
  • Develop methods and delivery to ensure the best practice evolution of our events and engagements

Ideally you will demonstrate the following skill-sets:

  • Experience in event and venue mgmt, including health and safety, project mgmt , procurement and stakeholder mgmt
  • Self-starter who thinks creatively and is motivated to deliver exceptional experiences
  • Engaging personality and ability to be high energy, resilient, with genuine customer focus
  • Organised, with a proven ability to focus in a very busy environment where you will be regularly interrupted
  • Strong initiative and innate insight into spotting challenges before anyone else 
  • Collaborative and confidence to direct a team

This is a fixed term contract for 12 months, as maternity leave cover. We are open to part-time or full-time applicants. You will be based in central Wellington with occasional travel required throughout New Zealand.
