Orillion is the trading name for Animal Control Products Limited, a Whanganui based state owned enterprise established under the State-Owned Enterprises Act 1986.  Established in the 1950’s, its purpose was to manage the secure importation and storage of toxins required to manufacture bait products for the various agencies involved in controlling a wide range of introduced vertebrate pests including feral ungulates, lagomorphs, marsupials, rodents and pest birds. 

Since 1996, Orillion has successfully diversified and expanded its product range, designing and manufacturing products under the registered trade name PESTOFF for domestic and export markets. 

We operate a proactive research and development programme and work closely with Landcare Research and other research agencies to enhance existing products and develop new innovative solutions for the pest control industry.

The Sales & Marketing Advisor is a new role to contribute equally across marketing initiatives, sales support and operational compliance requirements.  The breadth of the role and the size of the organisation allows you the opportunity to blaze a trail and really see the impact you have on the business.

Who we are looking for?

If you are self-driven and have a sound understanding of marketing and sales activities with good writing skills together with proficiency in the Microsoft suite apply now.  The role encompasses a breadth of areas that requires you to become proficient with the relevant legislation, business strategy and offering, local and national stakeholders and to assist with the operational and administration requirements of the team.

You will have a great interpersonal style and communicate well within and outside the business. Due to the size of the organisation there is scope to grow the role based on your ability and appetite to further your career.

In summary you will have:

• excellent relationship building skills
• experience in business to business marketing and sales
• sound administrative skills and proficient MS suite
• the ability to learn, and maintain a knowledge of vertebrate pest management principles and practices
• the ability to understand technical papers and regulatory processes
• the ability to understand and work with the diverse community sentiment towards pesticide use
• an interest in rural and back-country activities
• a current driver’s license

A knowledge of and/or experience in the agribusiness or pest control industry, along with experience in R&D or product development would be desirable.
