About the role
We’re looking for an experienced Communications Writer, based in either Auckland or Palmerston North, to work within our Brand and Communications team who can build and maintain a consistent public profile of Higgins.
This exciting hands on role will be responsible for communicating programmes, accomplishments, activities and/or points of view across a multitude of online and other media platforms.
Previous experience in this industry would be a real bonus, but if you are committed and willing to work hard, your content writing and other online written content will demonstrate the maturity and experience we are seeking in a team that is looking for more capability in this space.
Main areas of involvement:
• Building the Higgins profile by regular release of stories to engage our target audiences across both traditional and social media – throughout New Zealand in Fiji.
• Manage Higgins social media
• Coordinate and write Higgins Industry award submissions
• Build a stronger recruitment brand through the promotion of Higgins to prospective employees
• Build staff engagement and pride in working for Higgins
• Uncover and share our good news stories!
Skills and experience required:
• Relevant tertiary qualification – in marketing, advertising, communications or a related discipline
• Self-motivated with a positive and professional approach to management
• Tactical understanding of all primary social media platforms
• A wide degree of creativity
• Experience with how to pitch stories to media
