Are you someone that wants to make a difference in the community, has some great event management and relationship skills and enjoys working with people from all walks of life to get things done? If so, then we want to hear from you !
We are looking for the right person for 20 hours per week to work for the Cancer Society in the Central Otago and Queenstown Lakes region (hours may change from time to time depending on the activity coming up).
Our aim is to build healthy communities and support individuals and their families / whanau who are living with cancer. The team at the Society undertake health promotion, supportive care and fund cancer related research for the people of Otago and Southland, and we are looking for an outstanding person to work out of our Queenstown office.
We are looking for someone that has experience in all elements of events and campaign management, including:
- Project and / or event management as you will be a vital cog in ensuring our events and fundraising initiatives are a success;
- Having an understanding of the importance of sponsors, partners and media in building successful events and campaigns and be able to work with them to meet targets;
- Having awesome organisational and time management skills;
- A history of creating and managing successful events and initiatives;
- The ability to build strong relationships with those you work with.
You will be working as part of the small, dedicated team in the region as well as our volunteers and committees in order to bring some our key events and campaigns (such as Daffodil Day, Relay for Life and other initiatives) together as well as creating new opportunities to raise awareness and funds for the Cancer Society
You need to have a clean licence, access to a car for work purposes, be prepared to work outside of traditional hours sometimes, be efficient and organised and have a contagious energy and drive.
