Here’s a great opportunity to take on a key role in a well-established business that is a leader in its field.  Reporting to the Director of Finance & Operations and sitting on the executive team, this position is a critical role which contributes to the smooth-running of our small, but complex operation.  With a total of 7 direct reports, the role is responsible for providing management and support to the teams which handle the day-to-day operations for finance, warehousing, purchasing/logistics and admin and also hold oversight of the facilities and IT functions which are supported by contractors.

On the finance side, you have a competent team which look after the day-to-day. However, your experience in providing management reporting and commentary will be key. On the operational sides of the business, you will be a key cog in our wheel to ensure that we are running efficiently and making good business decisions.

The role will suit someone who is used to being autonomous and leading their area with a strong sense of self-motivation and drive.  In a company our size, it’s never ‘not my job’.  You will still need to roll your sleeves up to support the team at busy times, stepping into some of the day-to-day when needed. 

The position is based at our Mt Eden premises and is a full-time permanent salaried role with working hours during standard office hours and days of Monday to Friday.  The nature of the role does require some flexibility to be available for events and other ad hoc requirements.

Your key responsibilities would include:

• Continuously reviewing and improving financial and non-financial reporting frameworks to ensure accurate information is delivered the organisation
• Support the finance team to ensure AP, AR and Payroll, stocktakes and inventory management and well cared for
• Working closely with Purchasing and Logistics to ensure we meet all delivery deadlines managing costs
• Overseeing onsite warehousing operations and team
• Overseeing building and equipment maintenance, IT systems, security & communications
• Leading the development of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts
• Overseeing the HR & administrative teams which support the business

Your background, experience and attributes will include:

• A minimum of 5 years relevant working experience preferably with management accounting experience in a sized business
• A relevant financial tertiary and accounting qualification preferred, B. Comm
• Experience running operational aspects of a small business
• Experience with a large importing component
• Experience managing a team of direct reports with diverse disciplines
• Strong planning & organisational skills with excellent computer skills
