About the Role

We have a great opportunity for a Major Project Accountant to join our high performing finance team.  Significant work has been started and more lies ahead as we progress the transformation to become the clinically and financially sustainable organisation that we want to be, delivering high quality outputs to our customers - our patients, staff and communities.

The primary focus of this position is to manage the robustness of the financial controls around Southern DHB major capital investments, including modelling and financial controls for the major build.  Deliverables include models of care changes that support capital investment, being able to challenge the business on operational changes, scenario analysis to provide risk level advice, and monthly project journals providing finance project reporting for the steering group and other reports.

About you

  • Chartered accountant who has worked at a senior level in a project environment within a finance/accounting role
  • Familiar with costing and project accounting
  • Solid understanding and commercial experience with project management methodology
  • Advanced user of Excel

You will provide advice and support to all levels within the programme of work/project involved in the development of performance improvement strategies and business initiatives.
