Heavy Diesel Fleet Mechanic

Reclaim  is a well-established, privately-owned recycling company which has been around since 1975. Based in Penrose, we run a large fleet of trucks Auckland-wide, seven days a week. The fleet consists of a broad range of trucks from basic box body, side lifter, rear packer, FEL and 8 wheeler Huka trucks.

We require a qualified Diesel Mechanic with a can-do attitude to join our team. You will be responsible for the scheduled servicing, repairs and maintenance of the company fleet and the bodies of the owner-driver trucks. Having the ability to repair and maintain forklifts and loaders would be an advantage.

We are looking for someone that fits into a small team environment and has the ability to work alongside the team of engineers when necessary. You must be motivated and have the ability to work independently.

Our successful candidate will have the following skills and attributes:  

• Necessary diesel qualifications
• A clean New Zealand drivers licence, preferably with Class 1, 2 and 4 (other classes are a bonus)
• Good engineering skills
• Understanding of hyds, and auto electrical skills
• Sound computer skills
• Be punctual and reliable   
• Proactive and good problem solver
• Conscientious

It is important you understand and follow correct health and safety procedures.

You must be able to work flexible hours and attend call outs, and be available to work at least two Saturdays a month. In return, we can offer a competitive hourly rate and a company ute (upon completion of the three month trial period).
