One of Wellington’s top civil contractors, are seeking a road marking worker for their Palmerston North based work. No experience required, just have a FULL NZ DRIVER LICENSE! 

A road marking worker has a specialised skill set and our contractor is willing to train you up to have this skill set. Once you have the skills to start you can get a job anywhere around the world!
Your role will involve working around traffic, road marking car parks, roads, airport runways etc. Your hours will be varied and you will need to be open to working both day and night shifts (both can change with 12 hours’ notice).
  • Day shifts are around 7am – 5pm
  • Night shifts are around 3pm – 4am
Pay rates:

With no previous experience you will be paid on agreement with the client. Starting rates are $16.50-$20 p/h.
Your future in this specialized skill set could look around $20 -$28 p/h as a road marking supervisor.

What do I need to have before applying?
  • Full NZ Driver License
  • Pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen
  • Be very reliable
  • Knowledge of civil construction or traffic control would be useful
  • Physically fit
  • Flexible to work both DAY and NIGHT shifts and 45-70 hours per week
Road marker assistants may do some or all of the following:
  • Control traffic
  • Lay out traffic cones to protect markings, and pick them up 
  • Check machinery and make minor repairs
  • Load trucks with equipment and supplies.
Road markers:
  • Usually work regular business hours, but may have to work night shifts or extended hours 
  • Work on local roads, motorways, car parks, sports fields and factories
  • Work in conditions that may be noisy, dusty, dirty, dangerous, hot or cold
  • Travel locally to work sites and may stay away from home at times.
