Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Digital Production Manager, this role will involve:
- Operate and maintain the digital press with limited assistance.
- Retrieve approved print-ready files from workflow servers and impose jobs for the press using imposition software and the information on the job bag
- Ensure devices are in good working order and calibrated.
- Troubleshoot issues and perform manufacturer authorised maintenance.
- Check and maintain stock levels of consumables required for operation of equipment.
- Output proofs and create mock-ups.
- Check and ensure the processor and chemistry are in good operational order and within allowable chemistry tolerances.
- Keep up to date with any new press control software, software updates, new features or processes that are used.
You will make good use of your common sense, apply a sense of urgency and be a dedicated team player who isn't afraid to role your sleeves up and get involved!
Cores skills required
- Sound problem solving & analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Able to work without supervision
- Ability to work to deadlines/timeframes
- Computer literacy and knowledge of scheduling and basic office software.
- Knowledge of printing process, materials
- involved and printing specifications is a bonus.
- Relevant machine experience is a bonus
