We are New Zealand's largest bicycle and bike accessory retailer and since 1993 have grown to 19 stores nationwide.

We are on the hunt for a Bicycle Mechanic/Technician to join one of our Stores and be responsible for all bicycle repairs and the assembly of new bikes from our internationally renowned brands such as Merida, Marin, Kona, Lapierre, Redline, Apollo or Radius.

As well as being the Bicycle Mechanic/Workshop Manager, you may also be called on as a Sales Assistant within the store to assist customers when things get busy! 

Key duties of the role mean you will:

  • Undertake all mechanic work as required
  • Locate sources of problems by observing products in operation; listening for problems; using tools to rectify
  • Provide mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests
  • Provide customer service and sales support to the store
  • Process payments and sales

You will need to be available to work one weekend day as part of your 40 hour week.

To succeed in this role you need to be very 'cycle savvy' and be able to confidently carry out wheel building, gear tuning, bearing replacements, break servicing as well as changing cables and replacement of chains. This list is not exhaustive! You will be the go-to person for all mechanical queries/issues.  

Minimum two years experience with bicycle mechanical work is essential.

We are looking for someone who has the ability to problem solve in a fast paced environment. You will be able to read and understand technical manuals and be able to carry out technical research online (beyond Google!)

You will have outstanding interpersonal skills, enjoy meeting sales targets, pride yourself on your professionalism and have a lot of initiative.
