Our current Caretaker is heading towards a well deserved retirement. Dolamore Park is a 95ha paradise in the Gore District. It is a recreational reserve and holds a special place in the Gore District for families, school visits, overseas tourists and many other visitors who share in the tranquility offered by many bush walks and the natural environment.

Our new Caretaker will be able to manage turf care, garden and tree maintenance, noxious weed control, building maintenance as well as supervising and liaising with the many campers and visitors to the park. The role requires a close working relationship with the Department of Conservation. While you will be part of the wider parks team, this role is mostly sole charge.

In addition, you will need a clean driver's licence, have a range of maintenance skills, including sound horticultural, gardening and turf management experience and be able to present all facilities in a clean tidy and attractive condition.

This role also encompasses inspections of the 26 District playgrounds involving regular compliance, audits and repair work to ensure they remain fit for purpose.

Our Caretaker will be an ambassador for the District in their dealings with campers from all over the world and must be able to communicate with them at all levels.

Dolamore Park is a pristine reserve that is a jewel in the Gore District's crown. The native bush and its ecosystem is a special environment that needs a special person to care for it.
