Cleaning Supervisor
Campus Services, Property and Vehicle Services
- Full time (40 hours per week) 4am start weekdays
- Continuing (i.e. permanent) position
An opportunity has arisen for Cleaning Supervisor role in Campus Services, Property and Vehicle Services at the University of Canterbury.
Campus Services, Property and Vehicle Services provide the effective and efficient delivery of operational services to the University in the areas of cleaning, distribution, property and vehicle services, security, transport and parking, emergency management and business continuity, to ensure a fit-for-purpose, safe and appropriate environment for learning, teaching and research.
The role of the Cleaning Supervisor is to ensure the effective provision of cleaning services through the daily co-ordination of the cleaning staff.
Ideally as the successful candidate you will have:
- substantial experience in commercial cleaning (carpet and hard floor maintenance)
- effective supervisory skills to efficiently organise a team of staff, induct, train staff and lead by example
- trained in chemical handling
- provide support around window cleaning and pest control as required
- experience in the use of safety harnesses for working at heights
- ability to work effectively under pressure
- excellent interpersonal skills to deal with both internal and external customers
- will work on projects with graduations, examinations and other events on and off campus locations
- flexible to work on weekends
- good understanding of organizing, planning and delivery deep cleans
- good understanding of H&S in the workplace.
