We operate and New Zealand's largest dry pet food plant in Te Puke, Bay of Plenty, where we manufacture and export the highest quality pet foods in the world. With good business growth, we are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Electrician who can help us in electrical installation, services and repairs wiring, conduits, fixtures and other electrical devices, systems, etc, and conducts mechanical assessments and preventive maintenance.

Job tasks and responsibilities

Ensure equipment reliability both through electrical and mechanical assessment and preventative maintenance

Provide recommendations for improved electrical and mechanical components throughout the facility along with project costs and ROI

Develop, design and update specifications/designs for electrical systems and equipment

Carry out the installation and maintenance of systems and equipment within the facility

Carry out electrical system tests and correct any faults

Develop instruction manuals for installation of electric systems and equipment

Ensure all equipment and systems are set up safely and meet the minimum requirements of the Health and Safety in Employment Act and are in accordance with the Company Health and Safety Policies

Ensure compliance with all Company policies and procedures

Display a strong personal and professional commitment to sustainability and the willingness to actively contribute to the Company's sustainability policy for positive social, economic and environmental outcomes with a positive, professional attitude to all team members, clients and peers
Skills and experience
-
Minimum of 3 years relevant manufacturing electrical experience
-
Must provide proof of their qualifications being accepted by the EWRB and being fully certified to conduct unsupervised electrical works in NZ

Good knowledge of processing electronics

A good understanding of equipment and safe practices associated with electrical engineering

A good knowledge of the laws, resource management and industry standards that apply to electrical engineering

Successfully worked in an effective team
