Our client is seeking Concrete Form Workers to work on a commercial hotel build located in Queenstown, New Zealand
The company
Join our clients’ experienced local and international team who are embarking on an innovative programme of investment and construction in the hotel market. Their first project is the construction of an iconic new upmarket luxury hotel on the lake’s edge in Queenstown, New Zealand. This is your chance to add fresh international experience to your portfolio.
Construction will include an integrated 8-storey hotel, adjacent apartment and townhouse complex. With 200 hotel rooms, restaurants, bars, conference facilities, health club, spa, back of house facilities and infrastructure - this is a unique opportunity to work in one of New Zealand’s most remarkable alpine destinations.
The role
Anticipated project start date of September 2018. The successful candidates will be joining a team of national and internationally qualified specialists, requiring significant experience on commercial builds. The role will include a range of duties, including concrete and masonry work and to perform manual work in preparing surfaces for concrete. Key to this role will be your ability to work to the highest standards while maintaining a safe workplace at all times and achieving production deadlines.
What you will need to succeed:
- 1+ years of experience within the industry
- Able to work independently
- Be physically fit, have a strong work ethic and be reliable
- Assist in set forms and wall panel forms to desired pitch, depth and proper alignment
- Able to spread, level and smooth concrete using rake, shovel, hand or power trowel, hand or power screed and float
- Able to mould expansion joints and edges using edging tools, jointer and straight edge
- Able to monitor weather elements for effects on the curing of concrete
- Able to produce rough concrete surfaces using broom
- Able to operate power vibrator to compact concrete
- Competent in the application of concrete surface treatments
- Maintain a clean job site
- Material handling and storage
- Load and unload trucks and haul and hoist materials
- Able to use equipment and tools correctly and safely
- Strong health & safety practices
- Have a passion for the industry
- Able to work to deadlines
- Have good communication skills
- Work to a very high standard
- EWP: Working at Heights (advantage)
- Be a team player
- Have a current clean New Zealand driver's licence
