Wirtgen New Zealand seek a Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic to join our Service team in support of our clients in the greater Auckland and North Island region.

THE COMPANY

Our product range of road construction and mineral extraction sectors incorporate the traditional product brands of Hamm Rollers, Wirtgen Stabilisers and Profiler, Voegele Pavers, Kleemann Crushers and Benninghoven Asphalt Plants.

THE BENEFITS

An hourly rate $30- $37, depending on experience:

Overtime paid at time and a half:

A permanent role, with ongoing training & development opportunities.

 THE POSITION

  • Field Service role;
  • Warranty, repairs and maintenance on road construction and mineral extraction Machines;
  • Diagnose and fault find customer and operator issues and provide solution, specifically electrical and electronic interface data diagnosis;
  • Inspection of machines and provide a scope of repairs;
  • Produce accurate and neat machine records, time-sheets and paperwork;
  • Develop and build strong customer relationships with both existing and new customers.

THE REQUIREMENTS

  • Trade Qualification as a Diesel Mechanic, Plant Mechanic or similar experience working on road construction or mineral extraction machines;
  • A minimum 2 years post apprenticeship working with heavy equipment/machinery or 5 years' experience working in a similar role;
  • Current, unencumbered Drivers Licence (HR classification preferred);
  • Demonstrated strength in diagnostics;
  • Experience in hydraulics required, electrics and engines preferred;
  • Current Forklift License, preferred;
  • Working at Heights, preferred;
  • WTR Licence would be advantageous;
  • Ability to attain and maintain an appropriate level of fitness for work, including clear drug and alcohol screen.

This role is based in Wiri our Auckland branch.
