Due to our continual growth, Argus Fire Protection has the opportunity for you to join our team as a Fire Alarm Technician working on challenging and exciting projects.
Argus Fire Protection is a well-known company with over 30 years' experience in the fire protection industry. The company covers all aspects including fire system design, installation and ongoing testing and maintenance of fire systems.
We currently have a vacancy for a qualified Fire Alarm Technician based in Christchurch. The successful candidate will demonstrate a high level of competence in all aspects of fire alarm system installation and service and must have proven experience in programming fire panels.
Candidates must have:
- Fire Alarm Technician experience and be Fire Tech qualified.
- Competency in maintaining and operating all types of Fire Protection and peripheral systems.
- A high understanding of the relevant NZ Standards and NZ Building Code.
- A high standard of Health & Safety, Workmanship and Ethics.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent computer literacy.
- Excellent record keeping and report compilation skills.
- High level of personal hygiene.
- Available to be on after-hours call-out roster.
Other responsibilities within this role will include:
- Representing the company with Architects, Engineers and Consultants.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.
- Management of cost-effective purchasing of materials.
- Achieving further sales of the company's products and services.
- Monitoring of jobs to meet agreed completion dates and budgets
- Provision of technical information, advice, and assistance
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have the ability to be cool under pressure and able to negotiate between different stakeholders and will have a strong track record in organising resources efficiently in a cost-effective manner.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced technician to take a key role in our Christchurch operations.
You should have proven ability in all aspects of servicing of fire alarm systems, including addressable systems, gas flood systems, and aspirating systems is required.
Success in this role is achieved by demonstrating accomplishments and having a proactive approach for positive outcomes but most of all to be part of the team.
