Experienced Diesel Fitter / Potential Workshop Manager Required!
We are currently looking for a fitter/potential workshop manager. Either someone contracting to us or a staff member – wages will vary accordingly.
We are a heavy earthmoving machinery dealer based near Gatton, QLD and have a workshop of 4 diesel fitters; most of whom are contracting to our business.
The directors require a very experienced diesel fitter capable of the following:
- Help coordinate works to be completed on machinery as new stock arrives by allocating/managing the team of contractors/staff under directors instruction.
- Ordering parts for the workshop, delegating parts runs or picking up themselves in private or company vehicle.
- Heavy Earthmoving maintenance, repairs, rebuilds on the tools; particular when during busy periods.
- Proficient with CAT machinery
- Good diagnostic skills
The candidate. Who we need:
- Someone with a positive, can-do attitude, incredible work ethic, reliable, honest and hard working with proven experience.
- An allrounder, who is happy doing the boring jobs as well as the challenging ones.
- Someone who uses common sense and a very “handy”.
- Someone who has great attention to detail and thorough.
- Must be able to fit into a team environment and have a laugh with the boys.
- The right attitude is imperative in this role, as we operate from a shared workspace.
- Must have a drivers licence
Pay will be highly dependent upon skill set and may range between $50-60 p/hr for contractors or a lesser rate for staff, however is NEGOTIABLE dependant on experience.
Approx 40+ hrs p/wk, dependant on current workload, with occasional weekend work required.
