Job tasks and responsibilities
- Will be responsible for the creation and storage as well as retrieval of programmes for the CNC machines within the company in order to produce parts on time using NX CAD/CAM software
- Responsible to ensure that programmes for parts in the production plan are prepared and placed into the machine areas for use by the CNC operators
- Will design and create necessary programmes, setup documentation and drawings for fixtures if needed for the production of parts
- Will review and update all files as necessary for revision changes, engineering changes and tooling improvements
- Will assist in the creation, review and updating of production processes and notes as required
- Will assist in the creation, storage and retrieval of setup sheets and information
- Will assist in the training of operators in the use and maintenance of tooling as required
- Will make sure that all special tooling and jig materials are to be ready at the machine prior to start of machining
- Will assist operators in problem solving activities
- Will assist the Quality department in root cause analysis of non-conformances and implement permanent corrective actions
- Will work autonomously to ensure target dates are made
- Will support the company's promotion of Occupational Health and Safety
Skills and experience
To be successful in the role, you must have:
- A minimum of 3 years experience in NX CAD/CAM software
- Experience in milling and turning
- Ability to read Engineering drawings
- Ability to create models, jigs and fixtures
- Write processors an advantage using NX post builders
- Knowledge in feeds & speeds for various materials
- Able to be a team player with outstanding verbal communication
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Trade background
- Knowledge of Gibbscam an advantage
