Based in the South-Eastern suburbs of Melbourne, you will become part of one of the leading suppliers in warehousing automated solutions and the global market leader for value-added logistics process automation at airports and in the parcel market. This role is to work within our Australian service organisation and you will form part of a well-oiled maintenance team in one of the most automated warehousing solutions that has ever been built. Our main goal in the Vanderlande Service team, is to ensure that our equipment delivers the best possible operational output for our valued customers and this is what we deliver without fail on a daily basis.
Your Position
As a Mechanical Technician, your role within the team is to undertake preventative and corrective maintenance on this newly built, state of the art warehouse facility owned by one of the largest retail companies in Australia. The role will initially be a day-shift position which will become a 4on-4off roster in the coming months.
You will be an important contribution to our goal of achieving the highest possible customer satisfaction, focusing on the continuity of customers' processes. That means you'll require an enthusiastic and proactive attitude and a flexible working approach combined with the ability to interact effectively with people from diverse cultures, combined with the willingness to learn and expand your abilities every day.
Your key focus areas in this role is as follows
- Preventative and corrective maintenance.
- Fault finding on automated systems.
- Using data analytics to enhance system performance.
- Providing technical support to our customer.
Skills and experience
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Mechanical qualification with at least 3 to 5 years relevant working experience as Service Engineer/Technician.
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical aptitude with proven experience.
- Strong understanding of conveyor systems, chain/belt/pulley systems, pneumatics, Etc.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills (English).
- Highly motivated with a keen interest to further your own ability and studies.
- Honest, reliable and proactive with a strong sense of accountability and responsibility.
Highly Regarded
- Dual Trade Certificate (mechanical and electrical).
- Experience in logistics, postal sorting and baggage handling systems highly regarded.
- Proven automation background.
