Mineral Resources Limited (MRL) is a leading Australian based integrated mining services and bulk commodities production Company.  MRL, through its subsidiary Carbonart has established a carbon fibre manufacturing facility with the core focus of manufacturing structural components for mining and mining construction applications.

We are currently seeking Composite Technicians to join our development team on a full time basis. The role, reporting to the project manager, will be based at our Bibra Lake facility.

This is your opportunity to work with an innovative and forward-thinking team, at the forefront of technical advances in the mining and associated industries.

Those with experience in the Fibre glass Boat Building or related industries are encouraged to apply.

What YOU will be doing

The main focus of the role will be to ensure the high quality production of carbon composite materials, to meet the team targets and deadlines. This will include Installations and Maintenance to workshop components.

What YOU will bring 

  • Trade Qualification (preferred)
  • Knowledge of materials and templates used for composite laminate build-up.
  • Knowledge in achieving optimal fibre-resin ratio for a composite component.
  • Experience in Vacuum infusing large composite structures
  • Hold exacting tolerances in layout and build-up of composite parts; record production information for subsequent use by others.
  • Hold proper cure cycle and remove parts from moulds and bagging materials
  • Prepare, assemble, demold, and bond components and parts
  • Ability to use a variety of hand tools and equipment for modification, fabrication and repair
  • A “can do attitude” and flexible approach in the workplace.
  • Ability to read and interpret design drawing
  • Commitment to working safely
