About the role
The first of its kind in the Australian electrical industry, the ACT Streetlights Energy Performance Contract aims at decreasing energy consumption, improving customer service efficiency, and creating a smart city backbone. We are seeking to appoint multiple experienced Electricians, these full-time positions are based at our Canberra, ACT Depot and report to the Electrical Supervisor.
Key duties/Responsibilities
- Perform all work associated with the maintenance and installation of electrical equipment in a timely and safe manner.
- Assess causes and consequences of faults occurring in street lighting infrastructure, and undertake efficient actions accordingly
- Provide tablet PC based live reporting of actions
- Provide timely reports on progress of works, quality standards and work practices.
- Ensure the highest level of Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality performance are achieved.
- Keep all company equipment clean, maintained and in good working order.
Skills/Experience
- Certificate III in Electrotechnology (or equivalent)
- ACT Electrical License
- Previous experience in street lighting infrastructure maintenance
- High Risk Work License - Elevating Work Platform
- Construction Industry White Card (or equivalent)
- Knowledge of electrical regulations and industry requirements
- Previous experience using ipad/ tablet reporting
- A current Drivers Licence and MR licence
Pre-Employment Requirements
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical including a drug and alcohol test.
- Availability to commence in July 2018.
