Tiling Apprenticeships - All Year Levels
Location: Brisbane


All Trades Queensland is currently seeking Tiling Apprentices, whether you are looking to commence, or continue as a 2nd, 3rd or 4th Year Tiling Apprentice, within Brisbane and the surrounding suburbs.

You will be employed by us in a full-time Tiling Apprenticeship, earn a weekly wage and be exposed to all aspects of your trade.

As an ATQ Apprentice Tiler, you will be working towards obtaining a Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling.
Wall and Floor Tilers specialise in laying clay, ceramic, marble slate and glass tiles on indoor and outdoor surfaces for both protective and decorative purposes.

As an ATQ Apprentice Tiler you will learn to:

• Remove old tiles, grout, cement and adhesive
• Measure and mark surfaces to be covered as specified by plans
• Estimate the amount of tiles and glue needed
• Cut and shape tiles needed for edges, corners or around pipes using tile-cutting tools
• Glue tiles to floors and walls, making sure the patterned tiles match
• Space and even the tiles by using tools such as spirit levels, squares and plumb-lines
• Prepare and apply grout, remove excess grout, clean and polish tiles
• Lay floors of cement, granolithic, terrazzo or similar composition
• Apply waterproofing systems

To be eligible, you must:

• Have a car & licence (to travel to job sites)
• Have completed or are willing to complete a Certificate I in Construction (highly regarded)
• Enjoy hands on work
• Enjoy variety and a broad range of projects
• Have a keen eye for detail and can work with precision
• Be able to work independently and as part of a team
