The Organisation

Sanctuary Lakes Resort is a unique community in Point Cook, Victoria. The Resort boasts an unparalleled selection of residential homes in a stunning natural, environmentally friendly setting centred around a magnificently designed 60 hectare lake. The lake is the largest man-made water in the Melbourne vicinity.

The Role

Do you enjoy working outdoors and have boating experience? Are you looking for a new challenge?

This role will involve working as part of a small team taking care of maintaining the presentation of the Resort's main feature, the Lake.

Our lake management plan requires the harvesting of naturally growing sea grass which removes nutrient from the lake, which in turn controls the spread of algae.  Four vessels are involved - the paddle-wheeled harvester, two truxors and a barge. Scientists regularly sample and test the water quality, and make recommendations to manage the paddle-wheel harvester activities.

Thanks to our hard working and vigilant lake management team, our lake is now a very healthy and vigorous eco-system.

Key Requirements

• Hold an Australian Maritime Safety Authority Exemption 38
• Pre-employment medical check and police check is mandatory
• Manage a small team
• Victorian driver's licence (manual licence)

Other Requirements

• Inland coxswain certificate preferable
• Appropriate prior experience in a similar role
• Reliable and enthusiastic
• "Can Do" mentality with innovative and problem-solving skills
