EXCITING ENGINEERING MACHINIST APPRENTICESHIP OPPORTUNITY!
Ai Group Apprentice and Trainee Centre, in conjunction with our host organisation are looking for people who want long-term stability and to build a career as an Engineering Machinist. Our host company commenced operations in Australia in 1999 and focus on serving the piling/ Foundation, Mining & Tunneling, Trenching, HDD, Wear Protection and Drilling sectors.
They are at the forefront of their industry through their provision of specialised tooling including prototype engineering, development of new tools and manufacture of one off tools. With a strong focus on providing quality products, exceptional service and effective solutions to clients, their position in the market can be summarised with 3 key words, relationships, quality and service.
About the Role:
You will have the OPPORTUNITY to:
> Work with 6 CNC machines , 3 lathes and 3 mills including a new Large Bore Lathe delivered at the end of the year.
> Centrifical Grinder, Manual Mill and general workshop equipment.
> Create specialised products including prototype engineering, development of new products and manufacture of custom items.
We are looking for motivated individuals committed to undertaking a career in the metals machinist trade with a view of long term development to ensure products machined comply with customer quality requirements and on time delivery requirements.
APPRENTICE CNC MACHINIST - Skills and Attributes:
> Previous experience in manufacturing or steel fabrication is essential.
> Willingness to undertaking studies to complete a trade qualification.
> Good math skills.
> Demonstrated ability to read technical drawings.
> Self-motivated with good time management skills.
> Demonstrated ability to learn new tasks quickly with a high standard of work quality and output, including the ability to work to deadlines.
> Good communication and listening skills - including the ability to follow instructions.
> Take pride in your work, reliable and committed.
> A willing and contributing team member with big picture focus.
> An ingrained attitude towards achieving & maintaining high standards towards safety, quality & service.

A Certificate III Engineering Mechanical Apprenticeship MEM30205 involves:
> Examine and evaluate drawings and specification for requirements.
> Operate and adjust metalworking machines and create parts or tools by turning, boring, milling, shaping, slotting, grinding or drilling metal stock or components.
> Fit and assemble metal parts, tools or sub-assemblies
> Cut, thread, bend and install hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines.
> Set up and/or operate hand and machine tools, welding equipment or Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) machines.
> Ensure accuracy and quality of finished parts, tools or sub-assemblies.
This apprenticeship is a Skills Shortage Trade.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:
> Must be an Australian Citizen or have right to work in this country
> Tertiary graduates need not apply
