The team of 150 employees work on all facets of road construction and maintenance, supported by our office staff, to provide our clients with a full-service philosophy from within the group.

About the Role

An opportunity has become available for an expert Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our Healesville depot with frequent travel to client sites in the South Eastern Suburbs and LaTrobe Valley.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Use your qualifications to perform maintenance, servicing and repairs on light commercial trucks, heavy trucks and various types of earth moving equipment
• Have the flexibility to carry out breakdown repairs as and where required, including on work sites away from the depot
• Maintain a professional working relationship with all field, management and administration staff
• Keep the workshop in good working condition and take pride in your work environment
• Co-operate with SLD Hire in managing and maintaining safety in the workplace as a high priority

You will have the following

• Heavy Diesel Mechanic – Certificate of Qualification
• Experience working on trucks & earth moving equipment
• Current Drivers Licence (HC Licence preferred but not essential)
• OHS Construction Induction Card
• Reliable with a motivated attitude
• Excellent time management skills
• Ability to communicate clearly
• A dedication to and focus on safety
• The willingness to travel for emergency repair work
• The ability to work unsupervised as well as in a team
• Excellent technical skills
• Flexible and adaptable
