Mechanical Trade Fitter/Machinist

Mechanical Fitter required for local valve repair shop who have a number of long standing contracts throughout Western Australia and Victoria.
Reporting to the workshop manager, the role will be predominantly workshop based however there will be a requirement to be available for site work.
You must be able to overhaul, test and set Pressure Safety Valves according to quality standards and within specified timeframes.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have a minimum of 5 years mechanical trade experience and:
- Hold an Australian recognised trade certificate in mechanical fitting and machining.
- Experience with valves. PSV, Gate, Globe, Check, Regulators direct and pilot is desirable.
- Paperwork is an important part of the role and you will be competent in completing this accurately as directed and required.
- Have demonstrated experience working both onsite and in a workshop environment.
- Be competent in operating machining equipment, manual lathe, milling machines.
- Be able to accurately bend stainless steel tube work.
- Understanding and knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics would be an advantage.
- Have excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with customers in a professional manner.
- Be available to work overtime and weekends as needed often at late notice.
- Flexibility to undertake site work and travel for work when required.
- Hold a current drivers and forklift licence.
- Have experience in industrial flow process industries i.e. mining, chemical, oil and gas.
- You will be expected to supply your own hand tools.
- Most importantly you must be a committed, enthusiastic and reliable team player.
