About the role
Metaltex is currently seeking an enthusiastic employee to take on the role as a Labourer in Cutting area for an immediate start on a permanent full-time role. We are offering a secure position with the possibility of ongoing progression within the company.
The main tasks and skills required are as follows:
- Measuring and cutting materials to size as per drawings.
- Reading engineering drawings.
- Sanding, Drilling, Finishing, Packing.
- Cleaning and maintaining work areas and machinery.
- Assisting all workers in the shop floor with their requirements.
About the Person
The successful candidate must have the following skills and competences:
- Previous experience using different types of saws (drop saw, Brobo Saw)
- Must be capable of reading and understanding engineering drawings
- Must have the ability to cut materials to size as shown by drawings
- Able to select materials as shown by drawings
- Must have previous experience using hand tools
- Forklift licence highly regarded
- Previous experience working with steel in a manufacturing environment
- Able to work in a team
- Strong understanding and commitment to Workplace Health & Safety
- Ability to take direction
- Must be prepared to be on your feet all day
- Prepared to learn and grow with the company
- Punctuality, reliability, efficiency & sound work ethic essential
- Ability to work under pressure
- Attention to detail essential
- Must be able to maintain a clean & tidy working environment
- Sound communication skills
- Candidates with a stable work history will be highly regarded
