The opportunity
Start your apprenticeship with this proudly Australian company. This is an exciting opportunity to commence a Fitter Machinist apprenticeship developing your skill set and furthering the career you have always wanted. Working full-time, you will receive mentoring from trade professionals and develop hands on skills whilst also undertaking your theory coursework. In addition to practical experience, the successful applicant will attain a Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Fitter Machining) and an open ticket for your future. Your day to day activities might include, but are not limited to;

  • Mark the shape and dimensions of a part to be machined by studying blueprints and using measuring instruments
  • Assemble and fit machined parts using drill holes and tap threads if necessary for bolting parts together
  • Cut, thread, bend and install hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines
  • Shrink-fit parts during assembly, using oxy-acetylene torches and presses
  • Inspect machinery regularly, making adjustments, repairs or replacements as required

Who we’re looking for
The successful candidate for this role will be able to commit to a 4 year apprenticeship, and have a passion for all things mechanical. You will be someone who takes pride in their work and have a strong desire to become fully qualified in this field. In addition to these qualities, you will:

  • Have completed a minimum of Year 10 schooling
  • Hold a current manual driver's licence
  • Have strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude
  • Demonstrate safety awareness and maturity in an industrial environment
  • Be committed to attending TAFE and passing all practical and theory-based training modules of an apprenticeship
