John Holland manages the prestigious Country Regional Network (CRN) which makes us the first accredited private rail transport operator of a government owned heavy rail network in NSW, and one of only three accredited managers of public rail infrastructure in the State. The scope involves the operation, management and upgrade of country railway lines across NSW including 2,700km of operational freight and passenger lines, and 3,100km of non-operational lines. We are currently looking for a Rail Signal Electrician to join our Rail Signalling Maintenance team based in Bathurst. The purpose of this role is to undertake Signal Electrician tasks associated with the delivery JHR CRN Signalling maintenance program and wider project support in relation to Routine Maintenance activities.

As a Signal Electrician, you will report directly to the Signal Work Group Leader and your duties will include but are not limited to:

• Provide direct Signal Electrician trade skills to the Signal Maintenance Team.
• Conduct maintenance on operational signalling infrastructure for the purpose of maintenance, testing and fault finding as defined in the Signalling Maintenance Procedures
• Participate in the practicable safety culture at all levels and promote and encourage a safe work environment, at all times
• Ensure quality of signalling maintenance undertaken to the highest standard and are complainant with standards
• Develop signal trade skills and capability and competence through training
• Be committed to and conduct all safety activities in accordance with the JHG Safety Policy Statement and procedures
• Be committed to all Quality and Environmental activities in accordance with the CRN JHG Quality Policy Statement and Procedures
• Work within a team with a Monday to Friday working roster. 
• Required to be apart of an after hours On Call roster  

The successful candidate will possess:

• Accredited as Signal Electrician (Cert IV or equivalent)
• Certificate IV or equivalent Signal Electrician
• Licenced Electrician to AS 3000
• Protection Officer level 2
• C Class motor vehicle licence
• Operational Experience as a Signal Electrician
• Good communication skills – both verbal and written
• Ability to work without direct supervision
• Computer proficiency skills
