Proudly Australian, with over 37 years in the business, Pirtek specialises in fluid transfer solutions through mobile "onsite" service and replacement of hydraulic and industrial hose and fittings.  We pride ourselves on providing an enjoyable work environment with ongoing training and support. 

The Role

Through diversifying, Pirtek Launceston are experiencing continued growth and are now looking to expand our team.  We require an experienced service technician to deliver a high standard of repairs and maintenance of cylinders, motors, pumps, plant and machinery for our customers at our centre and in the field.

We're seeking a motivated individual who is punctual, reliable and committed to providing quality customer service. Someone who can demonstrate safe work practices and follow instructions but also use their initiative and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. An enthusiastic, autonomous individual who is equally capable of working in a team, has a passion for the brand, a positive attitude to training and who will contribute to a positive culture within the workforce, in line with the company's vision and values. The team member we're looking for will deliver on time and to a very high standard in an environment that is often fast paced and regularly changing.

As an experienced service technician you will be expected to deliver consistent, accurate, high quality service involving:

• Replacing hydraulic and industrial hose and fittings in a breakdown situation;
• Completing new installation work on a variety of machinery and equipment;
• Repair and maintenance of fixed plant equipment and machinery;
• Repair & manufacture cylinders;
• Repair hydraulic pumps & motors;
• Providing fluid power solutions and building relationships with a varying range of customers;
• Our role is best suited to applicants who reside in Launceston and must be available for overtime as well as participating in a 24 hour weekly on call roster on a rotating basis.

Skills and experience

Strong consideration will be given to applicants who show evidence of the following;

• Mechanical / Fitter trade background;
• Relevant industry experience;
• Well-developed analytical, problem-solving and continuous improvement capabilities;
• Responsive and adaptable to a fast-past, changing environment;
• Ability to work well both unsupervised and as a strong team player;
• Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and adhere to safe work practices at all times; and
• Current manual motor vehicle license.
• Machining experience using a manual lathe is desirable but not essential
