ABOUT THE ROLE

UnitingSA is looking to appoint an enthusiastic Maintenance Coordinator to support the Portway Housing Association within UnitingSA located at Port Adelaide. The Maintenance Coordinator provides a professional and effective response to tenants living within our community housing sites and enjoys working in a busy environment.

The Maintenance Coordinator’s key responsibilities are to undertake building inspections, arrange and supervise all maintenance repairs within budget and required timeframes, including development of maintenance plans, and procedures.  Knowledge of building safety requirements and building regulations pertaining to additions and alterations is required.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Schedule and conduct property inspections
  • Negotiate major upgrades with Builders and Contractors, where appropriate
  • Maintain a maintenance database and prepare maintenance plans required by Portway Housing and other key stakeholders
  • Ensure ongoing after-hour maintenance services
  • Provide prompt response to requests for responsive or emergency maintenance by tenants

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • Builder’s License and/or Trade Certificate
  • Experience in a building maintenance environment or a similar role
  • Ability to communicate with and relate to a wide range of people.
  • Current SA Driver’s license
  • Current DCSI Screening (Child and Disability)

You will also demonstrate a positive and professional "can-do" attitude, excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to work equally well as a member of a team or working alone.
