Whittens is a reputable and privately owned, Australian Company which employs over 450 people Australia-wide. Our organisation specialises in earthworks and civil, construction contracting, delivering services to Australia's Infrastructure, Mining, Oil and Gas and Defence Projects.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking a Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic for an exciting upcoming project in SA. FIFO 3:1 roster. You will be expected to work unsupervised therefore must be a self-starter that can work to safety standards. You will be expected to repair and maintain a diverse fleet of equipment.
About the role
Daily servicing and refuelling of site plant and equipment
Carrying out scheduled service and maintenance of diesel powered plant and equipment
Maintaining electronic service and repair history
Fault finding of a variety of plant, equipment and light vehicles
Responsible for maintaining the laydown yard and keeping it orderly
Must have a positive attitude with a strong safety focus
Skills and experience
Australian recognised Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic
Computer literate Word, Excel, Outlook
At least 3 years in similar role
Must be able to work unsupervised
Effective time management and attention to detail
Current Australian drivers licence with class HR (preferred, C class minimum)
Troubleshooting, diagnostic and preventative maintenance skills
Desirable attributes
- Forklift ticket
- Hydraulic experience
- Air conditioning refrigeration licence
