Mechanic

Intermodal Staffing specializes in providing staff to the Transport and Logistics industries. We are currently seeking automotive mechanics to perform maintenance tasks on all types of truck trailers including semi and b doubles.

Maintenance includes regular, preventative and scheduled servicing, repairs and both minor and major refurbishments, maintaining and replacing wheel bearings, brakes, checking lights, tyres and other trailer components and completing paperwork.

Experience working on heavy vehicles is not a necessity as training will be provided. Candidates suited to this role could come from a background as a diesel mechanic, automotive mechanic, fitter and turner, mechanical fitter or maintenance person.

Attention to detail, a safe work ethic and good written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Our customer is a large operator in the Transport sector based in the Western suburbs of Melbourne.  The workshop offers a professional state of the art environment for a trailer mechanic.  You must be available to work Monday to Friday. If you are looking for day shift the day shift times are 7am to 330pm and for those wanting afternoon shift the hours are 4pm to Midnight.  Some overtime available on Saturdays when required.  

You will be rewarded with excellent working conditions and rates. Rates for a mechanic starts from $33 p/h and $39.13 p/h for a qualified diesel mechanic on day shift.  The rates for afternoon shift is from $37.50 for a mechanic and from $42 p/h for a qualified diesel mechanic.
