Your new Company
A National Australian owned and operated elevated work platform service provider is looking for a mechanically minded Workshop Manager to join their team in this permanent role. This is a well-known company, who provides a friendly and supportive working environment based in Western Sydney, with branches all over Australia. Your new role as a Workshop Manager
This is a critical role, reporting to the Operations Manager you will be responsible for the day to day running of the workshop. Your daily duties will include, but are not limited to;
- Scheduling ad ensuring works are completed on time, and communicating any changes to internal staff and customers as required
- Managing the staff of approximately 12, including 2 leading hands who will report to you directly.
- Managing quality control & WHS
- Plan the advancement of staff and foster a good workplace culture
- Daily reporting and using a range of Microsoft office programs
- Customer service is critical, you are the frontline and will need to keep customers updated on progress, technical problems, and solutions as they arise.
- Assisting, coaching and providing training to the technicians where applicable
- Building lasting relationships with internal staff, customers and suppliers.
You will be based out of the Western Sydney branch which services regions all across Sydney Metro. Your team will be working on a wide range of EWP's, scissor lifts, boom lifts, telehandlers, trucks and other hire equipment, carrying out all types of repairs and servicing from minor works, to complete overhauls.
What do you need to be successful?
- Trade background or a sound mechanical understanding as this is a ‘hands on’ role
- Your driver’s licence
- Competent in computers, Microsoft programs & reporting
- Well presented- you will visit customers frequently
- Experienced in managing a team, conflict resolution, training needs and performance reviews
- Experience in the service industry will be highly regarded
- Have a solid understanding of WHS and legislative requirements
- A passion for questioning the ‘status quo’ and pushing for excellence
- A passion for building and maintaining an enjoyable & focused workplace culture
- A strong work ethic with solid customer service skills
