Intermodal Staffing specializes in providing staff to the Transport and Logistics industries. We are currently seeking heavy vehicle trailer mechanics to perform maintenance tasks on all types of truck trailers including semi and b doubles.

Job Responsibilties
Candidate should have previous experience as a mechanic/technician in the trailer industry.This career opportunity is available for a self-motivated person with strong work ethics.

Key Responsibilities:

• Regular, preventative and scheduled servicing, repairs and both minor and major refurbishments, maintaining and replacing wheel bearings, brakes, checking lights, tyres and other trailer components and completing paperwork.
• Build, rebuild and repair all parts of trailer equipment, as may be required in the department assigned  
• Inspect, trouble shoot, diagnose, and perform maintenance on equipment
• Must be able to use hand tools and test equipment
• Physical activities include: walking, lifting, twisting, turning, climbing a ladder, etc.
• Responsible for repairs and required preventive maintenance of trailers

Job Requirements

• Candidates suited to this role could come from a background as a diesel mechanic, trailer mechanic, automotive mechanic, fitter and turner, mechanical fitter or maintenance person. 
• Experience in Mild Steel MIG welding is an advantage but not mandatory.
• 1-2 years Mechanical experience preferred. 
• Troubleshooting experience
• ability to lift up to 50 lbs

To be successful applicants must have proven experience working in an automotive workshop.  Attention to detail, a safe work ethic and good written and verbal communication skills are also essential.

Whilst these roles are casual ongoing, there is great opportunities to transfer to a permanent trailer mechanic role. Our customer is a large operator in the Transport sector based in Sydney.  The workshop offers a professional state of the art environment for a trailer mechanic. Some overtime available on Saturdays when required.You will be rewarded with excellent working conditions.
