Trades Assistant - Timber industry
 
 
Trades assistants required in the timber industry to deal with increased workload in a factory. High end products and state of the art machinery.
 

Our client based in Hallam is experiencing a significant increase in work orders resulting in the urgent need to expand the team. The employer offers modern facilities including a state of the art extraction fan system to reduce dust, a fully equipped lunchroom and a gym.
They manufacture sound proofing timber products that are supplied and used within the construction industry for acoustic effects.


You will need to demonstrate experience in the following:

• Working with timber
• Operating basic power tools
• Sanding
• Basic assembly using a drill
• Laminating

Your knowledge and awareness of OHS requirements working in an assembly area will need to be demonstrated at interview.
The company is hoping to attract people with industry skills and has long term options for the right people. They pride themselves on their superior products and need that reputation to be reflected in their staff, so personal presentation and professional communication skills are part of the selection criteria for this role.

This is an ongoing casual position that has no end date for the right person. A standard shift is 7am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday however overtime is being worked at the moment due to workload.  A base rate of $24.34 applies with penalty rates for time worked after 7.6 hours and on weekends.
