We are looking for expressions of interest from experienced and safety conscious mechanical fitters / mechanical technicians with real ‘can do’ attitudes for casual work we have around the Melbourne Metropolitan area.
The positions offer excellent pay rates and good working conditions.
As a Mechanical Engineering Fitter/Technician, you will be responsible for preventative maintenance servicing or corrective repairs, performing inspections and fault-finding on various fixed plant equipment.
- Trade Qualified – Minimum Certificate III Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 3 years’ post trade industrial maintenance experience
- Hydraulic, pneumatic and vacuum system experience. Highly regarded.
- Experience working on the maintenance of CNC Machines and Equipment
- Ability to fault find, diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical issues
- Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic production environment and prioritise workload
- Excellent mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work to timelines, whilst demonstrating accountability for own work
- Assist in identifying maintenance opportunities for improvement by offering innovative solutions and maintenance strategies to minimise equipment downtime through corrective, predictive or preventative measures
- Sound understanding of Workplace Health & Safety and producing JSEA’s
- Good interpersonal, decision making and problem solving skills
- Able to work as part of a team and autonomously
- Proactive in 5s and Continuous Improvement
- Strong attention to detail and report writing
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Intermediate computing skills, with CMMS experience
