    Programmed Industrial Maintenance is a specialist provider of maintenance and project services with more than 1,200 employees and 15 years' experience.

    We provide maintenance solutions to the resources, energy, infrastructure and manufacturing sectors across Australia.

    We are looking for expressions of interest from experienced and safety conscious mechanical fitters / mechanical technicians with real ‘can do’ attitudes for casual work we have around the Melbourne Metropolitan area.

    The positions offer excellent pay rates and good working conditions.

As a Mechanical Engineering Fitter/Technician, you will be responsible for preventative maintenance servicing or corrective repairs, performing inspections and fault-finding on various fixed plant equipment.

  • Trade Qualified – Minimum Certificate III Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 3 years’ post trade industrial maintenance experience
  • Hydraulic, pneumatic and vacuum system experience. Highly regarded.
  • Experience working on the maintenance of CNC Machines and Equipment
  • Ability to fault find, diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical issues
  • Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic production environment and prioritise workload
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to work to timelines, whilst demonstrating accountability for own work
  • Assist in identifying maintenance opportunities for improvement by offering innovative solutions and maintenance strategies to minimise equipment downtime through corrective, predictive or preventative measures
  • Sound understanding of Workplace Health & Safety and producing JSEA’s
  • Good interpersonal, decision making and problem solving skills
  • Able to work as part of a team and autonomously
  • Proactive in 5s and Continuous Improvement
  • Strong attention to detail and report writing
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Intermediate computing skills, with CMMS experience
