The Position

We are seeking an experienced  Gardener to join our dedicated and hard working team on a permanent Full Time basis at Noyea Riverside Retirement Village located in Mt Warren Park, midway between Brisbane and the Gold Coast. This area is characterised by open spaces, quiet streets and the popular Golf Club and RSL.

The function of the Gardener’s role is in providing gardening services to the residents of the village in a professional, friendly and courteous manner whilst maintaining the high standard of presentation within the village gardens.  If you are successful for this role you will be working amongst a team lead by experienced and professional Horticulturists. 

Duties include but are not limited to;

  • Maintain gardens and grounds to a high professional standard, as directed by the Village Manager;
  • Keep all work areas and equipment clean and tidy;
  • To manage gardening in a timely and cost effective manner;
  • Coordinate with maintenance personnel when required;
  • Attend to all required paperwork;
  • Attend to requests from residents in a respectful and enthusiastic manner to their garden areas;
  • Renovation and refurbishment of existing gardens;
  • Management of lawn care and irrigation; and
  • Other tasks from time to time as required by the Village Manager.

The Successful Candidate

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A valid Police check no older than 6 months from date of issue
  • Trade qualifications, desirable.
  • Minimum of 3 years proven experience within a similar role;
  • General gardening knowledge and experience (including extensive hedging experience);
  • Current Drivers Licence (minimum red P’s);
  • Ability to drive a manual vehicle;
  • Knowledge of legislative WH&S requirements;
  • The ability to work well within a team and also autonomously;
  • The ability to develop strong professional relationships within the team and residents; and
  • A clean, neat and tidy appearance and a can do, positive outlook to your work.
