About the role

We are looking for a Contractor Manager to maintain civil infrastructure, water, and sewage network integrity for the town of Weipa.

This role is a great opportunity for a qualified tradesman with extensive experience to utilise their knowledge to manage the integrity of Weipa's civil infrastructure. Working 44Hr Day Work (Mon-Fri) 5 on 2 off and reporting to the Public Works Coordinator, you will be:

• Maintain civil infrastructure, to include the water and sewage networks of the Authority so that the level-of-service targets in the asset management framework are met.
• Manage Rio Tinto appointed contractors
• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance activities
• Assists the Works Coordinator with the administration of budget and procurement processes.
• Contributes to improvement in methodology, procedure, process, equipment, and resources.
• Fosters a partnership approach to working with other teams across Weipa.

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

• Certificate 3 in Plumbing or similar trade
• Building, road, and drainage maintenance knowledge
• Demonstrated experience in Water supply, plumbing, and sewerage maintenance
• Demonstrated experience in contractor management
• Strong understanding of working towards deadlines and budgets
• A proactive approach towards personal and team Health, Safety, Environment & Community awareness.
