HIC Services is a leading provider to the mining industry in the Mid – Western NSW and Hunter Valley regions. This is a fantastic chance for you to join a dynamic organisation that is continuing to expand their operations.
Any qualifications with regard to tiling will be reviewed. Industrial / refractory experience is preferred however all commercial tiling experience will be considered.
Qualifications such as Confined Space, EWP and Working at Heights will be highly regarded, and a current driver's licence is essential.
Experience in CHPPs / wash plants desirable - but all relevant experience will be considered. Ability to transition into other requirements of the business as needed.
Applicants must be competent to follow internal and site specific requirements related to WHS&E regulations at all times. You will be expected to plan tasks, select equipment and appropriate procedures from known alternatives, and takes responsibility for your work and that of others. It will be expected that you understand and apply quality control techniques in undertaking all work.
Your competency to apply skills and knowledge in complex but routine situations where discretion and judgment are involved is imperative, and you must be able to work autonomously and represent the business professionally at all times. Tasks will typically include:
- Completing various items of paperwork.
- Assisting experienced industrial tilers, boiler makers, fitters and painters with scheduled work during shutdowns.
- Setup of equipment including, sand blasters, jack hammers, paint pumps and various items of plant.
- Mixing and preparing materials ready for installation.
- Remove debris and clean work areas ready for plant start up.
Any current generic inductions at any sites throughout the Hunter Valley will be highly advantageous.
On-site work will be at various mine sites throughout the Hunter Valley. As part of your employment you will undertake the standard induction training required for all employees covering conditions of employment, mine and plant safety, first aid procedures, movement around site, work and documentation procedures, quality control and quality assurance. HIC Services is very dedicated to internal training and competencies.
The successful applicants will be required to complete a pre-employment medical, including Drug & Alcohol test. Random Drug & Alcohol screenings will also be conducted periodically.
